When it comes to power efficiency, the new Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm is one of the best chips on the market. To prove that the 28nm SoC helps your phone hold a charge longer than the competition, Qualcomm is kicking off the One Charge Challenge and sent a phone across the globe to see how long the change would last.

During the phone’s voyage, it stopped in nine different cities, eight countries and racked up 36,312 frequent flier miles. While this may wound impressive, it’s really hard to judge the chip’s power efficiency based off of Qualcomm’s little stunt since the phone was only used to record a few minutes of video and the radios (which consume a significant amount of power even in standby mode) were most likely turned off for the majority (if not all) of the phone’s trip across the globe.

Since HTC is one of Qualcomm’s biggest customers, we were interested to see what phone Qualcomm used in the video.  Surprisingly, Qualcomm chose to use the HTC Rezound which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 chip rather than the new HTC One S or One XL which comes with the new Q4 SoC.

If you want to participate in the  One Charge Challenge, head over to Qualcomm’s Facebook page, you could win a new Qualcomm Snapdragon powered smartphone or tablet.
